We are happy to report that our 4th annual Community Spring Picnic on May 22nd, 2010 went pleasantly well, and we share the following review with you:
ATTENDANCE: ~150 people
WEATHER: Partly sunny skies throughout the event – YAY!!!

BBQ’d PICNIC FARE: Hot dogs, Burgers, Chips, Cookies and Soft drinks were in abundance; sales evened out expenses.

- College Park Aviation Museum: Mary Wolfe (Museum representative)
- Dealing with Wildlife in CPW: Vivian Cooper (City’s Animal Control Officer) – Did you know it’s illegal to touch eggs in bird nests, or adopt fledgling birds for pets?
- Recycling in College Park: Stacey King (Public Works Department)
- Self-Defense – Brittany Atkinson (Martial Arts Instructor with a black belt)
- Tai Chi Exercise – Verna Shen (20+ years of experience as instructor)
- Using The Club to fight auto theft – Officer Sarita (PGPD District 1)
PLANT EXCHANGE: Many thanks to all who brought plants & seeds to exchange with others!
RUMMAGE/WHITE ELEPHANT SALE: $100 raised in support or CPW-NW! Many thanks to all who donated items for this sale!
INFORMATION TABLES: The following organizations & elected officials came and provided valuable information:
