WEEKLY SUMMARY OF NON-ROUTINE ACTIVITY
CITY OF COLLEGE PARK CONTRACT POLICE SERVICE
April 16 – April 22, 2010
- 4/16 Contract officers conducted neighborhood bike patrols in the communities of Old Town, Calvert Hills, Lakeland, and Berwyn.
- 4/17 Contract officer observed an individual drinking beer at the bus stop located at Rhode Island Ave at Greenbelt Road. A citation in lieu of arrest was issued.
- 4/17 Contract officers responded to a call for service at 8700 block Baltimore Ave (Extra Mart Fuels) for a report of an attempt carjacking. The suspect’s vehicle was located and a pursuit was initiated. The vehicle crashed on Kenilworth Ave and the investigation is ongoing.
- 4/18 Contract officers responded to a call for service at Princeton Ave at Knox Road for a report of a citizen robbery. The contract officer spotted the suspect’s vehicle at Knox Road at Hopkins Road. A felony traffic stop was conducted and the 4 suspects were positively identified. Contract officer was able to get 2 full statements from 2 suspects. Suspects were from Olney Maryland. Great Work!
- 4/18 Contract officer responded with the Code Enforcement Officer for a report of a large party at 4705 Harvard Road. The officer issued a civil citation to a 20 year old for possession of alcohol.
- 4/18 Contract officer observed a 20 year old drinking scotch in the roadway at Princeton Ave at Norwich Road. The officer issued a civil citation to a 20 year old for possession of alcohol.
- 4/20 Contract officers responded to a call for service at 7400 block Columbia Ave for a report of a theft from auto. Verified-Stolen items recovered at the park
- 4/20 Contract officer conducted a traffic stop in the 9900 block Rhode Island Ave. The passenger was wanted on an outstanding warrant (contempt of court) from Howard County and was placed under arrest. The officer recovered several stolen items from several different T/A’s from the vehicle. Investigation is ongoing
- 4/20 Contract officer conducted a traffic assignment (Stop Sign Enforcement) at Greenbelt Road at Rhode Island Ave. 5 citations were issued
- 4/21 Contract officer conducted a traffic assignment (Stop Sign Enforcement) at Saint Andrews Place at Duke Street. 5 citations were issued
- 4/20 Contract officer responded to a domestic at 4800 block College Ave. The male was issued a criminal summons for possession of a fraudulent government ID.
- 4/22 Contract officer conducted a traffic assignment (Traffic Device-Failure to yield to Pedestrians) at Greenbelt Road at Rhode Island Ave. 6 citations were issued
