After hearing about this incident from a third party, I called the resident involved and confirmed it before spreading the word to the neighborhood:

Between 10 and 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 2nd, 2008, a house on the 9200 block of Limestone Place was broken into and burglarized.  The back door was kicked in and the doorframe broken; all the family pocket watches and jewelry were taken and the house left in a mess.  The burglars seemed to have been in a hurry and didn’t stay long.  The police suspect that the burglars knew the residents’ daily pattern since the break-in occurred while they were at work.

Please be on the alert and report any suspicious activity to the police at 301-333-4000.  Also remember to notify us so that we can alert the neighborhood.

We have received the following report from a resident on the 3700 block of Marlbrough Way:

<<Today [December 25th, 2008] I reported a suspicious vehicle to PGPD.  It had been parked at [the intersection of] Davidson Street and Marlbrough Way on Marlbrough Way.  It was a Ford F 150, dark color with design on rear window, Maryland License #90V14(?).  It had been there 2 days . . . I was not told the outcome but found the truck gone when I got home.  Then the truck returned.  I waited to watch where the driver went but he/she stayed in the truck to watch me or something else in the neighborhood.  Thinking there was danger, I called 911 to report again, telling them about the earlier episode.  An officer did come but did not make much effort to investigate. Do the police take us seriously? >>

I called the PGPD non-emergency number to ask what they have on record, and i was told that they checked and found that the truck was legally registered.  Apparently, nothing else seemed amiss.

If you see this vehicle suspiciously parked elsewhere in our neighborhood, please notify the police at 301-333-4000 (or 911 if you see a crime in progress) and notify us so we can alert the neighborhood with an update.
